Lewis Black on Creationism

From The Daily Show. He dishes the dish on Ken Ham and Kent Hovind. If you can stomach clips of these two ignorant chimps this segment is priceless:

Brilliant. Love Lewis Black.

I'm beginning to think this might be the best approach, just ridicule them into oblivion. They are completely unreasonable..

Too many of them are proud to be ignorant, but perhaps we can get through to a few of them.

Snicker. Well, it's not like there's much that can be done in the way of seriously debating these twits -- that's like trying to rationally debate a guy in a straitjacket in a rubber room about his conviction that he's Napoleon. The sheer absurdity of religion (and of its fumbling ventures onto science's turf) are a resource we should exploit to the full.

Louis Black cuts through the crap... and with religion, he has a LOT of material to work with.

I love his schtick about the two books. "Christians don't understand the Old Testament. Not their fault. Not their book!"

SCIENCE has only proven micro-evolution which is easily demonstrable, and no one argues about it.

SCIENCE has never proven macro-evolution—one species evolving into another species—which has never happened, and can't happen. Interbreeding of some species is just not possible. Giraffes and bats comes to mind. Morphing of one species into another is pure speculation and also not possible.

Please everybody—let's stick to science, not science fiction or grandiose speculation.

Evangelicals are wrong about a lot of things—intelligent design isn't one of them.

NWA: you're just plain WRONG

NWA, I should delete your post for its sheer stupidity, but I leave
it up as a reference point in case anyone tries to tell me there aren't really people stupid enough to believe that evolution didn't happen.

In case you do a 180 and decide you want to learn actual facts and not fairy tales, here's an example of speciation in action: http://www.talkorigins.org/features/whales/

@Arrow - You are quite correct, Giraffes can't/won't ever "morph" into bats. If this is your understanding of the process of biological evolution you are WOEFULLY illiterate.

If you follow the evolutionary tree, let's say Mammalia, down many branchings, you WILL find a common mammalian ancestor, though... along with thousands of other branches which led to species long extinct. But I am sure I am losing you at this point.

It's like the Christian argument that "man didn't come from monkies". This too is correct, they didn't, but back down that branching tree you WILL find a common ancestor.

This was all figured out BEFORE the discovery of DNA. DNA now confirms and even corrects these lineages. But I should stop because again, I am sure I've lost you.
