There is no support out there for free-thinkers who homeschool. Seems if I choose to do so, I'll be either alone, or grouped in w/ignorant theists. Texas requires NO training of any sort & there are no checks & balances when it comes to homeschooling. There are , of course, advantages & disadvantages but it allows me the right to teach my children as I choose. To become caring, compassionate critical thinkers who appreciate life & strive to help us save what is left of this world. my 2 cents.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667116946377253622.post-11206990224484774052013-08-16T07:03:11.604-04:002013-08-16T07:03:11.604-04:00"assuming their mother isn't the next And..."assuming their mother isn't the next Andrea Yates".

OUCH, that is the true test of their fanaticism, just what level of enlightenment are you willing to go to?

This is the saddest truth of how religion can make good people do bad things.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667116946377253622.post-85160697168165789772013-07-30T15:21:16.421-04:002013-07-30T15:21:16.421-04:00Some states require that the homeschooler has to p...Some states require that the homeschooler has to pass the same standard tests as everyone else. But it is not universal, usually you will find the religidiot states don't care, as being stupid means less drift from the true faith.L.Longnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667116946377253622.post-76452915927108413592013-07-30T12:51:02.558-04:002013-07-30T12:51:02.558-04:00Apparently not, at least in VirginiaApparently not, at least in VirginiaLadyAtheisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12132821431322748921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8667116946377253622.post-651519950252341982013-07-30T12:25:46.177-04:002013-07-30T12:25:46.177-04:00do homeschooling parents not have to live up to an...do homeschooling parents not have to live up to any standards of education?
